The Cookery School at James Street South

Situated on the top floor of the newly renovated building also housing the Bar + Grill and Private Dining facilities the Cookery School offers a purpose built interactive space.

The school is perfect for sharing our passion for produce and cooking with you. Whether it's a private group booking, or one of our scheduled events we're certain we can offer something to entice. From effortless entertaining, to knife skills, or even sushi and cocktails, our aim is that you enjoy yourself, learn some new skills and leave filled with confidence in the kitchen. The space is flexible, lending itself well to interactive team building events, demonstrations and product launches.

Our chef/proprietor Niall McKenna has a wealth of experience gained from years of working in some of London's top restaurants. Niall will take the practical and demonstration classes along with the help of his head chef team: Stephen Toman, head chef of James Street South Restaurant, who carries with him years of experience from some of the best kitchens in Paris. Carl Johannesson, head chef at the Bar + Grill who carries experience from many of the best hotels and restaurants in Belfast along with several years in New York. 

Our classes are suited to all skill levels, from our demonstrations and practicals open to the public, to our specialist sessions designed specifically for chefs, to private parties for corporate entertainment, birthdays and hen parties. Whatever your experience in the culinary world we are certain there will be something to suit you at the Cookery School.
